Our LGBT+ awareness and trans awareness training is highly regarded and considered to be of gold standard. We’ve trained over 1,000 people from a variety of organisations and continue to work with more businesses, councils, schools and voluntary sector organisations that want to become more LGBT+ or trans aware. Organisations we have delivered training to include:

  • NHS

  • Equality and Inclusion Partnership
  • Springfield Mind
  • Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action
  • Warwickshire Police
  • Lifespace
  • Warwickshire Young Carers
  • Compass
  • Rugby Borough Council

  • Wedding Celebrants
  • Clinical Commissioning Groups
  • Schools across Warwickshire and Gloucestershire
  • And many more… too many to list!

If your organisation is looking to become more LGBT+ or trans aware, here’s what we can deliver for you:

LGBT+ Awareness Training

This is a three hour training session that covers the following topics:

  • Terminology
  • Issues faced by LGBT+ people
  • Hate crime
  • Mental health
  • Challenging homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language
  • How to make your service safe, welcoming and accessible for LGBT+ people
  • How to be an ally to LGBT+ people

The training is delivered in an informal way, with plenty of interaction. The discussion is kept open and participants are encouraged to have an opinion and share their experiences. This training can be delivered in person or online via Zoom.

Copies of the slideshow presentation (don’t worry, it’s not death by Powerpoint) and a glossary of LGBT+ terminology are provided to each delegate. Certificates are also provided.

The cost of this training session is £400.

Trans Awareness Training

This is a 90 minute training session that covers the following topics:

  • Terminology
  • Issues faced by trans people
  • Hate crime
  • Mental health
  • The process of transitioning
  • Challenging transphobic language
  • How to make your service safe, welcoming and accessible for trans people
  • How to be an ally to trans people

Bitesize Training Sessions

We are able to deliver one hour bitesize LGBT+ and trans awareness training sessions if you are time limited. The sessions cover exactly the same as the longer sessions do, but it’s more of a whistlestop tour. The cost of the bitesize sessions are £250.

Full Day Training Sessions

If you’re looking for something more in-depth, we’re able to deliver full day training sessions. This could be to your team or the people you work with (students, service users, etc). We take a more bespoke approach to this, but could deliver a full day of LGBT+ or trans awareness training, or a series of bitesize sessions across the day. We’ll discuss your requirements with you and then create a plan based on that. The cost for a full day of training is £750.

Talks and Workshops

If you’d like a guest speaker on LGBT+ or trans awareness, or bespoke workshops for your organisation, we’re able to provide this service for you too.

If you would like to enquire about booking training for your organisation, please contact us on 07580 532 659 or email [email protected] to discuss your requirements.
